Balance
The subjects are the two boys presenting.
I don't think that this picture tells a story. What I could have done was to have waited till they presented, then moved to take a better picture.
Simplicity or rule of thirds?
The subject in this photo is the girl reading from the computer screen.
I don't think that this picture really tells a story. It would have been better to find a more interesting picture besides having a student read off of a laptop.
Balance or simplicity?
The subject is the girl that has her hand to her cheek.
I feel as though this picture captures emotion. The emotion it captures is boredom. The girl has her hand to her cheek in an attempt to keep her head from drooping, and that there is how a feeling of boredom is created.
Bad merger :P
It is not really clear as to who the subject is.
I feel that this picture captures a claustrophobic kind of feeling, what with having all of these people huddled together with what seems to be little to no room.
The problems that I encountered while trying to take photos with basic composition rules included not being able to move into the right position, continuously being acknowledged and told I was there to take pictures, and the fact that the pictures were very boring. It was aggravating to have someone constantly try to pose for the camera, or even have the teacher tell the kids to do better because "There is someone with a camera here to take pictures..." Not only that, but when I did have the chance to take a picture of a student who really didn't care, I found myself incapable of moving in the right position (lest I wanted to climb tables...) Also, that day's shoot was of the most boring topics ever, and just as I expected, the pictures clearly show this.
The technical aspects that I constantly kept in mind were the rules themselves, and checking everywhere to see if I could move around. Often times I could not move to my desired location because there may have been an obstacle in the way, and thus I had to improvise. Regardless, I managed to capture a few photos that follow a few of the composition rules.
